Hi, I've seen people refer to the pitch size of their tent, but how do you work it out, we are considering the diablo 600 and wondering what the pitch size is so that we know if we can camp at certain sites. Thanks if anyone can help. Alison

You just need to look at the diagram of the footprint and work out/estimate how much space the tent will occupy on the ground. Try here
I'd have a guess that it's about 8m wide by 7m long PLUS guy ropes which will add around a metre on each side so you'd need around 10m x 9m.
There are lots of threads about pitch sizes that explain that you need to leave space on either side of your pitch to form a fire break between you and your neighbours etc.
IMO you'd be better off with a more regular shaped tent.
If the pitch size is for example 100m2 then you multiply the width by the length of your tent. If it is less than the pitch size then it should fit but remember you need space for guylines.
And also, sometimes you have to fit the car on the pitch too.
Best to check with sites to see if the car is parked on the pitch or in a car park.
I have a diablo 600 and have pitched it in a 8mtr x 6mtr pitch without any problems, it is a fantastic tent with plenty of room for a family of 4, Go outdoors are selling them for £199.
Happy Camping.
Charlie.

Thanks all, really appreciate the feedback, well I have now committed and bought the Diablo 600 from Go outdoors but it only cost £150, only thing is that other posts I've read have said that its an older model because it doesn't have the second pole in the bedrooms? but the website says its the 2008 model?? As it was only £150 I've gone ahead and bought it but hope I won't wish I'd bought the XP model, oh well I suppose as i've gone and done it it's too late for worrying. Thanks Alison
