Right the last time I went camping I was about 6 so really need some advice. I need a tent suitable for 2 adults (in seperate rooms) and a very bouncy labrador, i'm thinking about the Vango Breckenfield 400. Is this a good tent and where is the cheapest place to purchase it, I only have limited funds and of course need to get all the other camping goodies.
Thanks
Ivy

Hi Ivy and welcome to UKCS.
I have a Vango Breckenridge 400 its brilliant tent it has a sewn in ground sheet and net doors to the sides and you can put the extra porch on there too...
so nice and safe for the dog and two large rooms with plenty of living space.
If you have a look on th etent reviews you will see I think now there are a couple of reviews on there for this tent.
As for price we got ours last year ( june 2007 ) and it cost us £300 ish i have since seen them for much less.
look HERE
Yes but its a discontinued model. I think Vango had a couple of issues with the Breckenridge but they really should have stuck with it as I think it may have been a real contender to the Monty6 if they had ironed themout.

Thanks for the replies, sorry for taking so long in getting back, life is pretty hectic at the moment, I'm counting the days till the trip LOL anyway we've purchased a Vango Vail 500 and it is fab, its up in the back garden at the moment and I slept in it last night with the dog who was suprisingly good, I think we need a bit more practice putting it up thou, it took 4 hours to put up with me running back in the house to watch the DVD every 5 mins.
Love

I ordered a breckenridge 400 yesterday from www.somersetcamping.co.uk for £170, as I think they may be discontinuing this tent from what I have read and I really like the layout.
we have a breckenridge and we have camped out in really bad weather only bit what leaked was from roof vent and it was a few drops (not really sure if it wasnt condensation) great tent roomy and easy to put up and take down

We have the Breckenridge 400 and wouldn't swap it for the world. We have used it for 2 years here and overseas in all weathers and never had a problem with it. I am reluctant to look for a new tent as I would worry that it didn't live up to the Breckenridge but I noticed at my local camping store the 'Columbia' by Vango which us Breckenridge owners would find eerily familiar...............
I noticed that one myself, very similar with some decent improvements. Don't think I can justify our thrid family tent in 3 yrs seeing as we've only used the breckenridge twice and a touch expensive for us aswell.
Oh well, I'll carry on looking for my weekend tent!
