Hello everyone,

Are there any tent showrooms in the north east as i am having difficulty finding any, as i would like to have a good look at some before i buy one.Barring the high street chains with limited space i don't know where to look.

As on my previous post i am looking for a spacious tent for me and my three children - 11,8 and 5 to have a week in the hols and a couple of weekends away when we can.

We went to the one at Mickley at the weekend, it has a great selection of tents that are pitched for you to look at, go inside etc, good range of suppliers too! Mickley is only a mile from Prudhoe. Alison

Is Mickley the name of the store or the town?

If i've checked this right, the shop is calle Camping on Tyne and is indeed in Mickley.

Universal British Caravans in Sandy laneGosforth  have a good display, mainly coleman, outwell  & a few khyams.  Great Outoors at Boundary Mills Shiremoor has displays of vango ,outwell & gelert.

  get yourself over to Preston Park, i am pretty sure the yearly tent exhibition starts this weekend.

Thanks to all for the suggestions, am in the process of planning a busy weekend.

I spent a good day yesterday driving around the shops above, and my final stop was Camping-on-Tyne and as has been rightly said, friendly staff with spot on advice, after a good think i bought a Vango 400xp.

And there is a special weekend deal on several Vango tents so if anybodys in the area, get yourselves over. I got mine for £149 reduced from £300. Time to start planning our next trip!
