Does anyone know of a place where we can go to see lots of pitched tents on display either in Scotland or the North of England. I know there are some in the Midlands, but that's just too far to travel to view them. Looking for somewhere where we can walk in and out of them and then probably purchase one there and then.
Thanks

I can't say anything about dealers with displays in the north, but as far as buying on the spot goes, I'd suggest resisting the temptation. We did a couple of visits to dealer displays to determine what tent to get and then we did quite a bit of online research to find a supplier.
In the end we ordered from springfield-camping.co.uk (they had the best price and seem reputable--at least, I couldn't find any online complaints about them!--so let's hope they're as good as they seem).
There is a Yeomans display near Wigan may be another in a better location. They had lots of Outwell on display.

One thing to check if you plan to visit more than one is what tents they have on display because if you're not careful you'll just end up seeing more or less the same tents in different places.
If you've an idea of what you're after then try and find somewhere that has that one on display.
Good Luck

I bought a new tent a couple of years ago at CW Tents at Backworth in Northumberland, just off the A19 north of the Tyne Tunnel, after seeing the model I wanted pitched outdoors.
They had a large display, both indoors and outdoors, but I don't know whether they always have the outdoor display.
