I am looking at buying a second hand Hartford L from 2004 - am told by the owner that it is all in good condtion etc. However does anyone know if the accessories for the newer Hartford such as canopy carpet and footprint will be of any use? Thanks

HI, not sure about accessories but i think the pre 2008 Hartford is pitched inner first and you may find this a problem?

Pre 2008 is pitched inner first but it really isn't a problem and in fact you may find you prefer this - once it's up - anyway. The only real disadvantage of innet first is that if the weather isn't great it's going to take you slightly longer to get under cover.

In terms of accessories I seem to remember (as ours is a 2006 model) that the footprint of the 2004 might be just slightly smaller, however I don't think that is going to cause an issue for most of the accessories. The only thing I'm still trying to establish is whether the 2008 canopy will fit pre 2008 model hartfords as you don't seem to be able to get anything else.

We have a 2005 model,I don`t think the 2008 stuff fit as its bigger. But the earlier 2007 stuff fits ok.Wehave a footprint, carpet, which just needs tucking under about 2 inches near the door ,apart from that it fits fine.the 2007 canopy will fit but don`t think there easy to get hold of anymore,.They do crop up on ebay.

If you search for Hartford threads, I think you'll find that the 2008 accessories only fit the 2008 tent. World of Camping still sell accessories for 2007 but they make a point of stating that they will fit 2007+previously ONLY.

Thanks to you all for your useful advice. Really fancy the idea of the carpet - it's about 5 years since I went camping and this sounds like a nice luxury addition to life under canvas!

Hello all..The porch on the 2008 model is different from the older models..As it tapers to a point on the arch.I believe the word gothic style porch is used..Where as the pre 2008 model porch is more rounded..So the canopies would be Different..
