I have the Vermont XL, which is the most tent that you have to get into the roller bag, so you have to be quite clilnical. Our technique is thus:
Arrange all of the flysheet (with poles removed of course) on top of the sig (with doors left open) so what you are starting with is a basic rectangle (I believe this is where the guide video skips to the end without really showing how to do it).
You then stand at what would have been the side of the tent (the long edge) and fold the back edge of the tent to the middle, and the front edge of the tent to the middle so they meet without overlapping.
Get all the air out that you can and repeat this action. Back edge to middle and front edge to middle without overlapping.
Get the air out again and simply fold the two halves together so you are left with a long, neat, sausage that is roughly the width of the roller bag.
Then, and this is the key part, you roll as tightly as you can. I do this by rolling with my hands and then kneeling on the roll as I go. It helps that I am fifteen stone. If you kneel and roll, kneel and roll, you will find you are left with a large roll of tent that is roughly the sixe of the bag.
Drop it in the bag, if you have rolled tightly then you will also have room for a folded up groundsheet from the porch and a feeling of achievement!
Hope this helps.
