A great Tent is the Vermont M. Errected in no time.

Putting it away again is the challenge for me. Anbody have any tips?

I note on the Outwell instructions film, the video is conveniantly cut short at the poiint where the seemingly oversize roll is about to be presented to the bag.

we have the vermont L so i reckon it would be the same as putting away the M although a little bigger.

The way we do ours is to leave the 4 pegs in the ground sheet but not the door then remove the legs and allow the top poles to get rid of the air in the main tent  but dont forget to leave the door open a little.

\we then remove the roof bars then unpeg the 4 corners. We fold the porch up towards the back until we reach the start of the SIG. then we fold from the back to the front then fold again back to the front.

We then make sure all of the air is out before folding from what would of been the left and right of the tent into three, then getting rid of the air, then folding into three again getting rid of any trapped air then putting it into the bag then doing up the straps that are inside. to get the zip done up we just squish the tent until the zip comes up.

I have the Vermont XL, which is the most tent that you have to get into the roller bag, so you have to be quite clilnical. Our technique is thus:

Arrange all of the flysheet (with poles removed of course) on top of the sig (with doors left open) so what you are starting with is a basic rectangle (I believe this is where the guide video skips to the end without really showing how to do it).

You then stand at what would have been the side of the tent (the long edge) and fold the back edge of the tent to the middle, and the front edge of the tent to the middle so they meet without overlapping.

Get all the air out that you can and repeat this action. Back edge to middle and front edge to middle without overlapping.

Get the air out again and simply fold the two halves together so you are left with a long, neat, sausage that is roughly the width of the roller bag.

Then, and this is the key part, you roll as tightly as you can. I do this by rolling with my hands and then kneeling on the roll as I go. It helps that I am fifteen stone. If you kneel and roll, kneel and roll, you will find you are left with a large roll of tent that is roughly the sixe of the bag.

Drop it in the bag, if you have rolled tightly then you will also have room for a folded up groundsheet from the porch and a feeling of achievement!

Hope this helps.

Karl

After a wet weekend in Leek and a hurried departure in the rain,  I piched my tent at home yesterday to dry it out. I put it away today (the last dry day of the month here at Stockton-on-Tees)

I tried Karls method and it fit the bag easy. I had room to add the bucket and footprint ground sheets. I was also able to fit two rubber mallets and two tent extractors at the side. There is still room left.

Thanks again for your replies
