Hi All,

I am just about to embark on a 3 week camping trip to the Isle of Man. (oooh I'm so excited, I have a number of tents, but I've just been given a Sunncamp Gites 5. I have all the "destructions" and stuff, but I don't have a pic of the tent when it is erected. I wonder if any of you lovely people have a photo that I could have a look at. I want to assess if it is the right tent for this extended trip.

I'm not so worried about sleeping space as my son (aged 5) has his own tent, but if the rain sets in I need ample living space. I'm intending only putting up the one inner tent.

Only 3 sleeps left!
cheers
K

I've just used my Suncamp Gites for the first time this weekend at the South East meet at Woodlands park. I didnt put up any of the inner tents, but instead put my inflatable mattress across the back of the tent. This give me a lot of extra room, and I'd be happy using it this way for an extended stay. I am not sure if it will give you the room you want if you use one of the inner tents. I have pictures of it in use but haven't had a chance to download them yet. I've just uploaded a picture of my Suncamp Gite into my gallery.

A friend of mine had a gites 5 and it was exactly like the first pic. The bedrooms go in on the left hand side, and go from the front to the back, not across the back of the tent like most frames seem to have .

How many is it for? It's not a huge tent, i'd say  the living area is quite small for a 5 man tent.

it's just the bit you can see from the door , as the bedrooms come almost up to the dooway.

Hi all,

I managed to find a really good set of pics of the tent on Ebay. It looks pretty straightforward, unlike the other monster I bought that came with no instructions. It's sat in my loft until I pluck up the courage to take it somewhere big enough to pitch it.

The tent is just for 1 really, my little fella has his own 3 man and the big one is mine, all mine! I know it sounds a bit excessive, but I am going for 3 weeks and it is just bound to rain at some point. It's great to have plenty of room for the little fella to play if we get rained in. He's a lovely kid, but really, really hectic. Lol I have also conceded him a portable DVD player just in case the rain sets in for days!

We are going to the Isle of Man to a little piece of camping heaven. We are the only people who camp there (the farmer is a friend of the family). It's a half acre field with a stream running through it. Absolute peace and quiet. I can't wait to get there and tuck into my pile of books. I have no doubt that the little fella will be living in the stream most of the time.

Thanks everyone for your help.I'll let you know how we get on.
x
K

Wow, it sounds wonderful   Don't blame you at all for taking a 5 berth tent - it may only be for one to sleep in, but it's for two to live in if the weather is bad. Enjoy
