as promised here is the review of the global bought for £250 from outdoor megastore.

My friends are new to camping and bought the tent , hadn't had time to test pitch until we went away this weekend.

We put the tent up in pouring rain on Friday . They hadn't had it out of the box to check anything, because they wouldn't know what they were supposed to be checking for.

anyway, when I arrived they had already assembled and threaded the poles in and it was ready to raise. No problem at all. Everything was straight and square. It was pitched perfectly first time.

The bedroom is one big inner with a toggle in curtain to divide it in the middle. They had 2 double airbeds in it, with a gap between them, and plenty of room. A double row of handy storage pockets in the centre of the inner tent. About 8 pockets I think.

The wardrobe side extension was a bit confusing. It is just an extension, with a door to close it off from the main tent. Why its called a wardrobe I don't know? there was no hanging rail or shelves or anything provided. There were 3 rings on the roof part of it, but they seemed to serve no purpose. The bucket was put in there and some plastic boxes with clothes in. It makes an ideal place to keep the loo out of sight.

Plenty of windows all round, curtains roll up from the bottom, on the inside.  and the tent was nice and light and airy. T

he quality was every bit as good as the Eden. It was warm and cosy inside, it has a silver groundsheet which is heat reflective. It rained heavily for a few hours, but all dry inside.

The doors have bug mesh and when the sun came out on saturday it was well ventilated.  We didn't have any wind to speak of, just heavy rain the first day. But the tent feels safe and sturdy.

My friends were very pleased with it and happy that it was easy to put up, and dismantled it themselves too. Also quick and easy to do.

I thought that my friends were winding me up when they said later , its a lovely tent but would be nicer if it had a porch? I assumed they didn't bother with the canopy as it was wet when we pitched and there were 5 tents, so we were all trying to help each other get pitched as quick as possible.

There was no sun canopy with it. They have to get on to outdoor megastore tomorrow to find out what happened with that.

Hi Debbie,

Many Thanks for this. These are the first pictures of the interior that I've seen and I've trawled through the internet looking !

I'm glad your friends are pleased with it.

We're still debating what to do. We went to Outdoormegastore yesterday and they were recommending the Outwell Bearlake, which is a Polycotton as we're planning to take it over to France. Thing is they start at £500 which is a little more than we'd intended to pay. This was supposed to be a cheap holiday. We're not convinced that we need Polycotton for Brittany and surely a well ventilated polyester would be OK

P.S. I love the picture of the little ones with the trike & trailor. They look like they're having a good time

Jen

HI Jen, yes they are very happy with the tent, apart from the missing canopy of course.

can't advise with what you need for brittany i'm afraid.

The kids had a fab time, not a quarrel or cross word from anyone all weekend and we had 13 kids from 1 to 15yrs. The trike and trailer was great fun, until the chain snapped from having too many kids in the trailer.  but then they had the idea of towing the trike with a bike, so the fun carried on.

the trailer was brilliant, they kept asking if we had any rubbish to take to the skip in it , even doing a litter pick unasked, we had a lovely clean pitch all weekend thanks to the kids

Hi Ratty yes, I'll do that, but maybe I'll wait until they have the canopy too, as this is why a lot of people are thinking of getting one,  is because  its supposed to be included in the price, not as an extra like the montana 6

My friend phoned megastore this morning. There should have been 3 boxes, one for the tent , one for the poles and one for the canopy. They are sending out a canopy and they should receive it tomorrow or Wednesday .

Hi Debbie,

Hope you're feeling better. Thank you so much for the review. It has really helped.

One thing about the inner - do you think it would sleep three in each bit? Is it big enough for a king air bed in each? I doubt it will our minds but it would be good to know.

Glad you had a good time.

And thanks again for posting.

hi mamatryl, I feel all the better for going camping thanks.

I wouldn't think you'd get 3 doubles in,  they had 2 double airbeds and a fair size gap in the middle, which would probably take another single airbed. i didn't really notice if they had the beds pushed right to the edges,  Hard to say whether two kingsize would fit without the dimensions, but probably

I did put two pics on my profile, but they've been changed again, i'll try to get them back on for you to see inside. Are you still thinking of getting it?

Great pics. Thanks.

We've just bought it along with a king sized air bed and a self inflating mattress for our daughter. We looked at measurement and it seems they will fit. Guess those instructions on the web were wrong - saying it was a four berth inner.

Our friend who has a lot of land has said we should go over and pitch it there and have a night out with the kids in it. Can't wait!!

Glad your friends are pleased with their purchase.

Now for the accessories...!!!

wow you are lucky having friends with room to pitch on and stay overnight. great, you'll have somewhere to pitch it to dry if you bring it home wet too.

I don't think you'll be disappointed with the tent, it really is a good quality sturdy one.

I had intended to take lots of photos , but the kids took some photos before I got around to doing the tent ones and the batteries gave out.

let us know what you think of it when you try it out,

Will do - won't be for a couple of weeks though.

Might make a real night of it - kids, campfire, marshmallows!

If anyone had said to me six years ago that I'd be excited about going camping, I would have laughed!!!

Thanks for all your advice...off to research sleeping bags. I saw on another thread that you prefer the self-inflating mats. I'm beginning to think we made a mistake with the airbed purchase.

Oh well, live and learn - we'll try it out anyway....

No,  I haven't tried self inflating mats yet. I sleep just fine on an airbed, but seem to have bad luck with them going down, and getting punctures, and can't be bothered with them anymore. i got york foam excecise mats from argos, they are 2 inch thick foam, they don't fold small, but I have a big van , so not a problem carrying them. very comfy they are too.

I may get a couple of £10 self inflaters from aldi, for when the rest of my airbeds pack in on me, they never seem to last long. and I'm not willing to pay for the really expensive self inflating ones.

I bought my sleeping bags here the hugo or romeo ones are extra wide and extra long, and you can zip 2 together to make a double if you want to. Great price, much thicker than similar style/price ones in argos . They also have the suitcase style cookers for £6,75, and a kettle for £3.99.
