hi there, have erected the cedar creek with ease, 20 mins first time. we do however have a problem with the front yellow poles floating. ive read that some people have cut their poles, but do i cut the coloured pole or the black pole that co-ordinates with that colour. im also assuming that i cut the green poles to rectify the problem, as i think that will make the yellow poles sit lower. also should i cut the black pole,that is inside the tent, slightly to ease the tension on the bedroom floors?

I think it is the interior pole that people have cut - have a look at the reviews of the cedar creek for more info  I havent cut any of mine yet but if any it would be the interior roof pole

I actually managed to put mine up on my own last weekend - and Im not what you would call tall  I released the tensioners at the back of the tent to see if it made any difference but will still have to sort out the interior pole and then I think it will be perfect.

              we have found that the sides of the tent look really strained when the bedrooms are pegged down, looks like the interior pole is an inch or two longer than it should be, and congrats for putting it up on your own especially as you say your "physically challanged"....

Just got back from 2nd camping trip in this tent, 1st trip  and the canvas was really tight when clipped onto the steel poles and the SIG would not sit properly. So before the 2nd outing I cut 3" off the yellow & green poles only and what a differance it made,the canvas was not to tight and the SIG sat perfect after fine adjustment to the front and rear straps,I have not touched the internal pole to me that seems fine.

Great tent withstood high winds at Filey early this week, just got the Coleman canopy from Argos anybody tried it on this tent if so how have you done it.

I was looking at getting the minnesota 4 front extension for the front of mine - dimensions are really close and I was thinking that I cound attach it somehow to the fron poles and run the bit over the top by extending the guy lines

When I put it up on my own last weekend the back end was totally off the floor  but as I was putting it up myself I decided that it was quite a good effort actually  we are going away again in it in a couple of weeks so will take my hacksaw with me to make adjustments - or I might have another go at putting it up in the garden if the weather permits to get it right.

I can not get my internal pole to go into the right place at all - just leave it as far as it will go

How do you cut the poles? do you cut then around the elastic then re tie the elastic further down or leave it?

Hi Daisy,

I removed 1 pole at a time and cut 3" off both pole & elastic then re-threaded the elastic using a length of mig welding wire and then re-knotted.

Hi folks

If i cut the green and yellow fibreglass poles do i have to cut the centre pole by the same amount as surely the effect of cutting the yellow and green poles reduces the overall dimensions of the tent.

Im very easily confused!

But going away with it next week , had a mare of a time putting it up last year but thought it was me being retarded untill read that others have had problems.

               was looking at your gallery and noticed you are using a footprint, how do you go about pegging out the bedrooms or do you just knock the pegs through the tarpaulin?

Hi Mr Bishi - The footprint that I have is just a large tarpaulin from B & Q. I put the tarp on the ground and peg the corners then put the tent on top and tuck the excess under the tent. I just put the pegs for the bedrooms through the tarpaulin as it is only a little hole and the tarp is just there to keep the bottom of the SIG clean. When I take the tent down I just fold the dirty sides of the tarp together and then when I get home I put it over my washing line to clean and dry it. I think the tarpaulin was only about £5.
