Hi can anyone whos got one of these help. we can't seem to get the groundsheet flat at the seam where the bedroom joins the living room,we've managed to stop it pulling but it still sits high. Also are there any tricks to getting the red roof poles in/out without them getting stuck(we've already snagged one of the pole sleeves after pitching it  just 3 times)

Hi can't help regarding the lifting seam, but putting the red poles in you need to lift the back of the pole as high as you can (hubby was on tiptoes) so as to keep the pole horizontal as possible, also helps if someone can pull the pole sleeve at the front of the tent to make the sleeve as straight as possible, try and wiggle pole rather than shove if it gets caught on any fabric.

sounds to my as tho either the side down poles at the bedroom points are pulled to far apart or the front/back poles are pulled to far apart. as for the poles snagging. i always push from the back of the tent with a gentle twist back and for whilst the oh watches from the front. as soon as you feel any resistance just stop and come back a couple of inches then try again. hope this helps.

Hi,

We have the five hundred model which is basically the same. All pole widths should be correct, as the pin system is used.

With regard to the red poles, why would you have to lift them? they are fitted while the tent is flat on the ground. We only struggle because there are only two of us,     5' 2" and 5' 5" and this is only because we can't hold the side legs up, while we fit the front and rear red legs. But if you have at least one extra pair of hands this should not be problem for you. We now pitch ours like a tunnel tent, by pegging the back temporarily, then pulling the whole structure fowards and upwards, and then fitting the front red legs. Then one of us goes to the back end and fits the back red legs. Now remove the temp. rear pegs, and peg out the inner tent fully.

I can remember the lifting ground sheet being mentioned before, but not a reasonable answer.

I reserve the option of being incorrect at all times.

Canvas tent, paraffin light, petrol stove. Heaven
I'd rather be kayaking.
Spent up, not pent up, just had my new tent up.

try watching the video raf, you will see the reason you struggle has nothing to do with there only being 2 of you. it might just be because you are puting the red poles in when it is on the floor, making it very heavy to hold the side poles up.

yes i do agree that the ring/pin system is used but this does not stop you from pulling the sides out to far and over tensioning the ground sheet.
