Aarrrgh. Hello all, am taking wife and son camping this year (first time since teanager) have just brought a LEBEN AACHEN 4 from under £50.00 from Ebay are they really that bad?
we will only use once or twice a year (hopefully in good weather)

Don't forget to leave a review of all tents you've used, for a chance to win fantastic prizes
Sorry Ray but I have owned one of these and yes, it really was that bad. Thankfully we were pitching it in my Mother in Laws back garden and were able to sleep on her floor that night. Can I suggest you try to put it up in your garden and see how it goes, then turn a hose on it. We didn't get as far as the hose as ours disintegrated before we got to that stage to the extent that it was un-useable.
Good luck and I hope it goes ok. If not Tentastic will, if pushed, give you your money back and you can ask on here for ideas for a better tent.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news and welcome to the forum.
I would back out if at all possible to be honest. Perhaps you could tell them that you have been reading reviews here and aren't very impressed. Then you can let us know what your tent needs are, and your budget and we can find you a shiny new tent for not too much more than you would have paid Tentastic.
Thank you, Priority for tent is space, there are only three of us and we are not expecially large but my wife is used to her creature comforts and in order for me to make her a regular camper i think a spacious tent would be better. Needs two bedrooms (ideally we could stand up in them) and a largeish sitting / dining area.
Not really sure on budget but less i spend on tent more i have available for other camping equipment. We are planning on going towards the end of august so i don't have that long.
You need to up your budget for a tent, if you go in the Leben and it goes t**s up you'll never get the wife to go again, you can compromise on the other kit, decent sleeping bags are a must but a couple of suitcase stoves for a tenner each won't break the bank, asda do chairs for a fiver that will do you for your first trip, keep coming back here and you will pick up plenty of good advice from all the knowledgeable people on here, you don't have to do it alone
