HI Merry,
Your Pacific is a very good looking tent indeed
I am definitely leaning towards the Pacific at the mo because of the layout. The second bedroom section will be ideal for a table and chair away from the kitchen stand.
Just hope Cabanon and the Pacific tent is still available when it is time for me to upgrade, fingers crossed
Perhaps I could find a way to justify it, e.g. Pacific for colder and wetter weather when I need to cook inside the tent, and the Freelander for warmer months when BBQ is a must etc...
Or the price may come down because the retails want to get rid of them etc...
I live in hope!

Well, most people have a fit when they have a look at the price of a new Cabanon and you can get v decent ones secondhand for less than £200 on Ebay etc.
Having said that, I bought a brand new , never used Cabanon off Ebay, from a former Cabanon dealer who was clearing his stockroom, this year and it is lovely.

Perhaps I should keep an eye out for such bargains too, as I have a thing about buying second hand goods. With the current economic climate, I may be in luck!

That's a shame, second hand Cabanons are usually an excellent buy.

I don't take a kitchen stand when I use the Pacific by myself. I position a table longways on to the kitchen panel on the rear wall, stand the cooker on the back of the table (no need for a windshield indoors) and use the front of the table for food prep and/or eating. Simples!

All my tables are 60cm x 60m, and I need a table for eating/surfing the net/watch DVD etc... A kitchen stand with 3 shelves will keep a lot of the stuff off the floor and make the tent tidier for me.

I wish! It is unlikely to be this year, unless the price is hugely reduced!

Er, well, I would like to think my tent is well organised and clutter free - but perhaps we should just agree to differ about how to achieve those aims!

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr , there is NO instructions supplied with the Khyam Atrium, and I have not worked out how to attach it to the front of the Freelander without any gap above the door after a practice pitch without the tent in the back garden.
I found this blog with some pictures how the Atrium will look in different height and width:
http://beardedgit.com/?p=623
My guess (please note, just a guess at this stage) is that the elastic draw cord at the tent end of the Atrium should go behind the vent at the top. It should then be stretched over the tent before being pegged down using extra guys if required.
It is deep enough to do that I believe, and it is currently the only way I could see how it can be attached to the tent without leaving a gap above the door.
Anyone got any idea?
I have e-mailed Outdoormegastore, hopefully they would be able to help, as Khyam is not providing any technical support via their website, and no contact e-mail is listed!!!

I did a trial pitch this afternoon when the weather was good, and came to the conclusion that the Atrium does not fit the Freelander.
It fits tents with a dome porch pole, hence not the Freelander.
I shall keep it, as I still have my 2005 Vango Sigma 300+ that has a dome porch pole at both ends as far as I can remember.
