Just had a look at the Minnesota 4 as a weekender for my wife and I. (Our 8 person Sunncamp Typhoon 1000 is rather large).
Having come back home and read a bit, I find the Minny is a "downgraded" Monty.
I know the hydrostatic head has gone from 5000 down to 3000, but what other differences are there.
Looking at some images I think the new Minny has far bigger windows to the side and front, but there must be other differences.
Anybody know whether the old Monty windows are smaller, and are there any other significant differences?
Thanks,
Steve

Hi
I'm not sure what the difference is but we've got the Montana 4 as a weekend tent and we thinks its a good tent and I was surprised that they've discontinued it.

How big are the windows in the Monty? How close to the bottom of the tent do they go?
Thanks,
Steve

Hi All,
We are looking for a smaller weekender too and was thinking of the Minnesota.. they're about £249 and wondered if our Montana 6 Extention would fit the Monnesota 4 to save us buying an new extension too... Any thoughts?
Also , has anyone already got the same set up as we are thinknig of getting e.g Montana 6 for longer stays and Minnesota for weekends?

For 2 people i rate our Minny 4 as a long break tent 1-2 weeks, we use the small cabanon for weekends (or as of today the nevada 3). The minn 4 is great for 2 people loads of room and can sit in comfort with a table and couple of chairs.

Wnepip - I own / have owned both the Minnesota 4 and the Montana 6 and the Montana 6 extension will be far too wide and high for the Minnesota 4 unfortunately.

wenpip are you anywhere near Berkshire?
I haven't advertised it but Hubby says we don't need two tents(I know that's not many:-)so our minny 4 is going...
£180 (brought Aug 2007)with carpet and footprint.
I also have the extension and canopy.
