Hi everyone, we are a family of 4 and 1 dog looking to purchase our first tent, we think we have got it down to two, the Lichfield Arapaho 6 DLX (2007) (not SIG) or Easy Camp Licata 600 (2008) with SIG which we have found for  £150.00

Does anyone know which is the better make.

Whilst I camped as a child, neither of us has ever put a tent up so ease of errecting is a high requirement.  We are looking for short weekend breaks for now, eventually going for full holidays once we have got the hang of it and built up the right equipment.  Money is also an issue our budget is 150.00 max.

Any advice would be gratefully received.

They are both pretty similar quality tents, both have 2000hh waterproofing.

the lichfield arapaho is a dome with pods coming of it, the licata is a tunnel style with the bedrooms side by side, and a smaller removeable bedroom the other end.

the licata will be less draughty , with the sig, and quicker and easier to erect than the arapaho.

The arapaho has the advantage of the front porch which the licata hasn't got.

Hope this helps

Thanks, I think if the quality is similar then it would have to be the Licata, thanks for the reply.

We bought the Licata 600 from Go outdoors when it was on special for £99. For the money its fantastic. Whilst down in Weymouth it did get a bit windy and it started to blow about a bit but then I realised I hadn't pulled in the tensioners at the bottom of the fibreglass poles to keep the canopy taught.

Hi new to this camping lark - just put up our Easy Camp Licatta 600 up for thr first time.  No real problems went up quite easily.  The main concern being the door ways - the zips do not go all around, so how do you ensure you get a seal from any extreme weather - may be being a bit thick here but I am a newbie.  Is there a pitching video or more informative instructions for this tent as the instructions supplied are very basic.

when the doors are zipped down both sides, the bottom can be tucked under the ground sheet.
