I am sure it will be fine Keely. The are hundreds of other people who have bought Outwell tents that have been absolutely fine so will just have been my luck. Just wish I could have luck on the lottery!!!
OMG.....not more holes in the Idaho XL. Evertonsue I believe had a hole in hers, got it replaced to find another hole in the replacement. Now on her third, but she has recently posted about problems with the roof poles.
I've just purchsed an Idaho XL and haven't yet been able to put it up to inspect it (waiting for some descent weather).
Out of interest, where is the hole and is it easy gonna be easy to spot if my tent has a similar fault.
Regards,
Gary

First tent had a hole in the end by the vents in the bedroom plus a zip on the vent that had been sewn to close to shut the vent. Second one had a hole in the main tunnel entrance beneath the curved pole. The roof poles were taken down and all the elastic had come away so whilst usable ( I suppose I could have rethreaded them) why should I when it cost so much. It wasn't windy that weekend. I do just think we've been really lucky but the latest one is still in its bag, and we won't have time (or space) to put it up before the main holiday so I'll be keeping my fingers crossed. Despite all this it really is a great tent and the space in side really versitile.
The hole was on one of the ends of tent near the bottom. It was a 1 inch by 1 inch right angled tear. Very annoying! Don't you worry I am sure yours will be fine, like I said it is just my luck!!

not just me then - it seems the elastic bit just isnt supported all the way through like a normal flexi-pole - i have complained to Outwell and the supplier "world of camping" day one and no acknowledgement yet - like you say they are still usable but at £350 I want this to be right :( who replaced yours ? supplier or manufacturer?

It was replaced by PJ camping in St Albans, but there was the hole as well.
