Has anyone got one of these tents (Sprayway)??

Never heard of them before. I`ve just looked at their 8 person tent and it looks great. So, do any of you fellow campers own one of these? I think they are new to the market, so i don`t expect too many replies to this post, but all your personal experiences/ views will be greatly welcomed by me at least. Thanx all

Have a great summer.

Ian.

Ive read and heard that they have problems with leaks and ill-fitting bedrooms. Like anything though, the complainers are more vocal than the praisers

They sure look nice though.

I saw the sprayway 6 up at the PJ Camping exhibition a couple of weeks ago. It was a nice looking tent and it seemed to be pretty roomy.

I spoke to one of the managers who had taken his tent man to look at their range as they are going to stock it next year. He noticed a couple of problems with some of the seams which sprayway said they were aware of and will be correcting for next year, as well as increasing the range of tents.

My advice would be to wait until next year, when there will be more suppliers as PJ Camping and Yeomans will stock it so you will be able to see one and maybe get a better price.

I hope that helped

Hi We own a spray way valley 6

Just been camping this weekend Fri-Sun 12 pm off pitch.

First time pitching tent (first time out of the bag) my wife and I were quite impressed with how easy it was erected. (45mins)

Inner has SIG (sewn in groudsheet) with bedroom compartmets and living space (good size for family of four)

SIG high in one spot before bedrooms but not to much tension to cause a problem, with 2 childern 3 & 5 running around.

We had very bad weather all Satrurday day and night, (rain and strong winds) we found the Sun canopy at the front of the tent to offer very good protection form the elements. Good pitching direction advised. Very sturdy frame.

We had 3 small leaks (and Im a plumber so I know a leak when I see one!!) all around the top seam of all three living room windows. But I know that tents are not 100% waterproof, so on the way back home brought some fabric water sealant and have appllied it to the seams in question.

We purchased the footprint groundsheet with the tent and found it to be a bonus as it keeps the SIG dry and dirt free also its long enough to cover the ground in the front porch area, a must when it damp under foot.

Side compartment great for storage (cooker, kids toys) internal storage pockets very handy, bedrooms good size and the built in wardrobe space, a good hiding place for the Under 3's.

Front area good storage outside SIG.

We knew when we brought it, that it being a prototype model that we might have a few

problems, but (touchwood) it is a really spacious, pratical tent and the design is some thing different form that of all the other tents on offer.

Happy camping campers!!

take a look at this thread here

I like the look of this tent and would like one of the valley 6 polycotton tents but I am a bit concerned about the reports of leaks around the windows

Hi there,

We have a Sprayway Valley 8 which is the second one as the first one had a split seam around one of the front doors. Unfortunately the second one ripped along one side of the sun canopy when we were putting it up last weekend so this one will be going back too. I agree that as these are first generation models there can be some problems. We were camping near Swanage where the wind and rain was fairly vicious overnight, but there were absolutely no leaks, although some rain blew in through one of the low air vents because I couldn't be bothered to close it! A slightly soggy sleeping bag was the only result. However, I did find that once the front and rear corner tension straps were wet they didn't stay taut which meant that the front of the tent flapped around and kept me awake and the some of the bags blew out of the storage area behind the bedrooms. We had to use nail pegs in the end to keep it down (at 5.00 am!). Other than that it was very sturdy.

I really like this tent, but I'm reluctant to try a third one. I think we'll wait until next year and see what improvements (if any) they have made. We have considered alternatives like the Outwell Vermont, Royal Bordeaux and Vango Nile, but they all have mixed reviews, most of which seem to involve leaking (quite badly in some cases). At least the Sprayway stayed dry!

I heard that Sprayway were exhibiting somewhere in September, but I can't remember where or when. Does anyone out there know?

When we was on holiday, we saw a sprayway up. It was a very large and impressive one! The family who owned it seemed quite impressed. When we got home, we had to take out Vango diablo 600xp back, due to numerous faults with it, and we asked about the sprayway tents. They (Winfields) hadn't heared of the tents, but they did stock the clothing range. She did say that if the tent prices where anything like the clothing prices, they wouldn't be cheap!! After looking around, at what space and bedrooms needed etc, we decided that our money was better spent on something a little more reliable, like an outwell wolf lake 7. We ended up sticking to a brand that we know and love, and have had no problems with in the past. Plus we was spending a lot more money in the end, than was origanally intended, so I, myself, needed alot of reasurance!!

I am now very pleased that we did the homework before purchasing, and now feel that the decision we made was right for us.

If you do decide to get the sprayway, it would be interesting to hear if the newer models have been improved more, as this name, sprayway, apparently has a fantastic reputation. The tent we saw did look really nice and spacous, with a fantasic canopy at the front.
