Yes - we removed the annexes first then the dome - that's when it tried to take off and we had to prop the kids inside whilst we removed the poles!! The cooler bag is missing in ours (ex-display) but judging from the pictures it looks like a fairly simple piece of kit - nothing much different from any other cooler bag (which we already have) and I'm guessing that nobody bothers zipping and unzipping it all the time?  Has anyone got the cool port fan - wonder if it would be useful in South of France - was pretty hot in the tent this weekend (not complaining - we had glorious weather!) or is that a step too far in terms of accessories??

I'm tempted in getting one, not least because BCH camping (Bath, Chippenham and Trowbridge) have it on offer at £12.99 at the moment.

I have all the fans for the Evolva, two port fans and also the roof fan with built in LED lantern.

I can safely say DONT BOTHER. They are a complete and utter waste of time. They simply dont give out enough punch to make any sort of difference in a tent of this size.

In a much smaller tent, they would work great.

Also, the little hooks in the roof of the chef annex are for your internal pole to hang stuff up to dry. We use it for hanging up dishcloths and small towels. They dry in no time in there, especially when cooking.

The coolbag we received has never been zipped onto the chef annex - a very pointless idea IMO. As a coolbag though, its a nice piece of kit for free!

Hi All,

New here.....New to camping...Please go easy on me...

Buying this tent shortly..but maybe a silly question?

If you are not using the second bedroom or chef's room does the tent have 'blank' ends to zip on, if you buy it in the package deal?

cheers

Mark

Yes , the Evolva main tent is supplied with three zip in panels , that also contain a mesh panel door. The solid panel tucks into a pocket if just using the mesh. Ant way , welcome to the forum!! As you are probably aware, there is a very strong contingent of Evolva owners here , so feel free to keep asking the questions. If you are interested in buying the link annexe, look at my advertisement. The price however is now £55-follow the link annexe thread for full story.

We best like it now......

Local to me Mark, but never been. Heard it got toilet block of the year a few years back!! If you cycle or walk , there are some excellent trails in the area ,so could be a great weekend to go this weekend . Teversal Grange worth checking out , and you are not far away from a great camp shop at Huthwaite . If you think you might want a Link annexe , I still have a few unspoken for at £55.Follow my add to get in touch .

So , what do you think of the Evolva, sounds like you pitched it reasonably quick.I gather now you have enough gear and then some !!!

Good luck Solosid and join the club.  I bought one a week or so back and also did not know where to start (which should have been here by the way). Glad to have found Numbersix both for his passionate and greater (than mine) understanding of camping and the Evolva as well as his grand efforts in respect of the link annexe.  See his other thread and buy his last annexe whilst you still can!

No idea where I am going to restart with this camping lark but it seemed unfair not to with three young boys.  I am seeking advice on what else you need, so feel free to input your advice here or in the equipment forum.  I have only got as far as a tent, a Kingsize Premium Aerobed (hoping inverter will power OK) and what seems to be a very handy lead acid 30 LED rechargeable lantern from Argos.

My advice - don't overdo buying too much equipment in the first instance - just start with the basics - something to sleep on/in, something to cook on/eat on/with, something to sit on/at - borrow to start with if you can - you'll then get to know what you need/want - the whole beauty of camping is not to be too encumbered - but that's just my opinion and I 've seen a number of happy campers set up in a 'home from home' including the kitchen sink (almost!!!)
