Hi everyone. I'm looking at getting a new tent, and in looking around I see that tents either get pitched fly first of inner first. Is one way better than the other? My first thought would be if you pitch the inner first, and it's raining, well, then you're screwed! opinions please.

We have inner pitch first must admit never been caught in heavy rain but have found if it did get wet when pitching it dries really fast, we just put the heater on for a while.

our tent also pitches inner first, which we find great for condensation (or lack of). like alison we have not been caught in heavy rain whist pitching, YET!!!!
------------- fresh air, lager and no work. who could want more?
I have seen people ( and helped) struggling to get the flysheet over the inners in strong wind.I personally would always go for the flysheet first option (but thts just me).Good luck with whatever you decide.

That's good to know - it will only be 2 of us for the moment, (might change in a few years!) but like you, we just want something that has a good deal of space.
Have you had any problems with campsites, with regards to the size of the tent?
