hi tentester

we fold ours length ways to the size of the carry bag and as one person rolls it the other helps squash the air out. we have never had a prob getting it away but ours is a 3 year old version so maybe they have changed the design of the bag which makes it more difficult!!

Myself and my friend both have the Hartord XL and we bought them within a week of each other but hers came with a much bigger bag, I think its all in the bag size - they get their's away perfectly, poles and all while we're always stuffing ours in!

i have last years xl. what i do is ...
fold each pod into the centre so it becomes a square(ish) shape.
Fold in one side to the middle then the other.
Fold the whole thing in half.
Then roll as tightly as i can.
Goes in the bag first time.

hope my rambling makes sense ! (does to me)

Good Luck
Claire

We unpeg ours and remove all poles, stretch out the flysheet over the inner tent (its a 2007 model) then fold the two opposite pods to the middle, then the porch and the other pod to meet them. You should now have groundsheet top and bottom with none of it touching the flysheet. then you just fold till its bag width then roll up tight.

When we have ours folded to the right width for the bag, we roll it up then 3/4 unroll it & re-roll this gets a lot more air out & it rolls tighter.

We have the hartford XL 2008 and I have found that the best way as already mentioned  above is to fold all the pods in to a squarish shape.  You then need to fold the sides in by making 4 folds.  This makes the width about the right size for the bag.  Squash the air out as you make each fold and push up for the rear of the tent to the front.

Once you have made the 4 folds fold the thing from the back to front about 2/5ths of the way up pack your porch ground sheet and door mat then role it up.  I've not tried puttin the poles in too yet as we pack them separately due to the weight of the thing but i guess you could.  Role it twice to get as much air out as possible.  Then tie it, turn it up on one end and put the bag down on it.  Flip iy over and pull the bag up.  Good luck and I hope it helps.
