Thanks for posting that - looks good! The issue I have is that I'm tempted by the Outwell Hartford L, and looking at the porch, it looks as though it essentially wil provide the same as windbreaks/canopy etc - in the sense it has a roof, and walls if need be.
Do you think this is possible, or is it too dodgy?
hi i would say it looks fine for cooking as long as you are not near the sides obviously! i suppose some people might say not to cook in the tent at all but i think its fine if you are careful. if my tent had a porch that where i would cook!

I did the whole frying bacon in ther rain thing, extra sizzle, but decided to get back to my roots and go for the canvas frame tent
Now i just get up and light the stove indoors, after opening the window to expose the mesh, and cook out of the rain, something to be said for going retro
Just wondering what people do with regards to cooking in the rain. Is it safe/advisable to cook under canopies/in porches?
I know cooking in the main tent is a no no. I'm looking at buying a new large ish family tent, and ideally want something to cook under!
Does anyone have any thoughts?
Thanks! Matt
We have always cooked in the main tent without any problems. It's all down to common sense. You could buy a kitchen/utility tent to cook in,I know a lot of campers go down that route.I would never consider cooking in the rain.
