Hi,

I'm wondering about getting the Khyam windbreak/canopy http://www.outdoorgear.co.uk/eshop.asp?wci=product&wce=51961101&CameFrom=png as we are camping in a few days but taking the smaller tent which means cooking outside and as the weather won't improve, I thought the windbreak would help with the cooking and the canopy keep any rain off the door.  Does anyone have one and are they worthwhile or am I just being drawn towards yet another bit of "useful" camping equipment!  (that's what OH thinks anyway!)

I love mine! It fits in a tiny bag, and stood up to dreadful weather for two weeks in Derbyshire.

Two tips if you get one - when you don't have the canopy up, roll it up and secure under the guylines on the top of the posts or it'll flap about and get in the way; and don't bang to poles in with a mallet or the spikes will disappear down the poles (Valkscot recommended popping a cotton reel over them, but ours are too long for a cotton reel so we have a lump of wood with a hole drilled through).

Well worth the money imo.

Anything Valk-scot says is good in my book ... !!!!

I've only found one, it's a 5-pole windbreak and canopy  - is that the larger one?

you can get the 8 pole windbreak with an optional roof canopy looks like this and costs a lot more money
