Hi - We are a four person family - 2 Adults, 2 kids (7 and 4) - we are looking for a tent to replace our Coleman Bi-Space 500 as we seem to be outgrowing the sleeping area rapidly. We would like something similar but with extra sleeping area/s. We like the fact that our current tent has a living area that you can stand up in, has windows with internal covers to let light in/keep light out and is outer pitched first. We like the idea of having a SIG but not one that you trip over. We have looked at Khyam Quebec 8, Outwell Nevada XL and Coleman Mackenzie 8, all of which we have reservations about. Can anyone please help - oh and we do have a budget of about £350. Yes I know we are not asking for too much..............
Thanks

Have you had a look at the Vango Amazon or Nile. They both look top be decent tents and unlike others I think the Vango quality compared to Outwell. Their customer support is also much better.

Thanks I will look into those - we did look at a vango killington 900 to start with but dismissed it for reasons I can't remember as have looked at so many.
You said you would like something similar to the Coleman. Could I suggest that you take a look at the Wynnster Osprey 8. It is as similar to the Coleman as any in the current ranges.
Failing that, I would have a look at the Outwell Nevada, Hartford, or Montana ranges.
Let us know how you get on.

NEVADA XL IS ONLY £215 AT YEOMANS ,with free carpet included, can highly recommend this one. Only downside to this is there is no porch for cooking in, but there is a side extension available. I use a utility tent with mine.
My sister has bought the Outwell Idaho XL from world of camping for £349, just been away for the weekend and what a great tent it is, plenty of living area and a great porch for cooking!

Thanks Shanklys best - I like the look of that one a lot - not sure hubby will agree though. Have also looked at Vango Yukon 800. Am not sure I am narrowing it down or opening up a can of worms. I have printed pics and reviews of all the above and hope to go through them tonight and make some sort of decision, unless I come across another tent that looks promising......................
Yes me again - having ploughed endlessly thru the information and getting seriously cross eyed, the choice has (probably) narrowed to Vango Yukon 800 and its sun canopy (can this be used on the side and on the end?) and hubbys choice of Coleman Mackenzie 8. Have experience of a Coleman "green" tent, prior to that Argos Dome oh and Aldi disaster. What do you guys think? The difference in price is about £15!
P.s thanks to everyone for their contributions - it really has been most useful and a great way of discovering things you had not thought about before x
Thanks Keely but unable to pick up. We have ploughed thru even more info today - things are so bad that I even dreamt about it last night!
Visited local tent "showroom" today, which was actually more of a quagmire with planks of wood to get you across the enormous puddles forming in the walkway areas - this did make me think WHY we like to camp in this country - anyway looked at montana 6 as so many fab reviews on this site and vango nile 600. Sadly discarded the monty as don't think the pod configuration would work for us as kids get older (1 boy, 1 girl) and discarded the coleman mackenzie 8 as have concerns about the quality going downhill and the major amount of windows - so choice between Vango Nile 600 and Vango Yukon 800. Nile 600 as 3 pods, sun canopy included and living area bit plus the flexibility and Yukon again for the pods, internal room flexibility and can get tent and large sun canopy for about £250 which is almost £100 cheaper. Really want to get this sorted as camping in next few weeks so please share your thoughts good or bad on these to save me from more sleepless nights! Many thanks Y .......... and yes I have read about the poor Vango Customer service message but am keeping my fingers crossed . x
