Bit of an impulse buy as not actually managed to see one irl yet. We are off on our 2nd ever camping trip with the kids on sat. We were hoping to put the sun valley up this afternoon but it's absolutely tipping it down :( . Still a bit worried that it is too big and we won;t be allowed in campsites but no point worrying now I spose - just have to see.
Got it from world of tents for £350 with a free kids room. Fingers crossed we will like it.

Nice buy Bry,you should be fine with the size.Quite straightforward to put up,just remember to open all the doors to get air inside before lifting it in place other wise it will feel like you are pulling against gravity. We have a SV6 which is the same width as SV8 and about a metre less in length and we have never had any problems of it being too big.

We have just changed our tent and bought the 2008 Outwell SV8 and off to Cornwall next week to try, when we put it up in the garden to road test we were really pleased with it, poured down all weekend and the tent did not leak, phew! It is a very big tent and the bedrooms are big too. The canopy is a fantastic idea no wet doors dripping inside as you dash in and out of the tent when it's raining. We did buy the footprint and will try and get the carpet before we go for that cosy feeling. Let us know what you think.

love the tent but having a few teething probs !!! 1st tent did not like the wind ! and broke, shattered 4 poles 3 red 1 yellow . chaps at sk camping told us it was a temporary shelter and not designed for strong winds! When i asked him just how strong it was rated to be he Harrumphed about unseasonably strong winds . Still they did replace it however the replacement leaks like a sieve and the front door wont close unless it is completeley unloaded not even good for an after curry aperitif ! let alone an a coastal camping trip anybody else expereinced similar ? No need to mention curry aperetifs!
