Hi
We've just bought our much longed for Outwell Bear Lake 6 - We bought it for 485 quid from go outdoors using their 10% off price match against yeomans 539...saved over 110 on what it should be... also got carpet for 44!
Has anyone any tips for pitching it... do you need to zip out the ground sheet when you take it down or will it pack away with it still on?
Any info much appreciated
Cheers!

Just had mine up in the garden for the 1st time. needs to be weathered as it leaks around windows 1st time it gets wet. Last night rained heavy again and it was dry inside.
Lots of people chat on here about the leaks. But the 1st good soaking done the trick. (will tell next week!)
I packed it up today by un zipping ground sheet. Its so quick to take out.Its also much quicker to take down than put up. You do need 2 people to put up.
Very pleased with the tent, cant wait to go camping for the week on sunday. Hope the weather is ok for next week.
You got a very good price.
I did well also paid just over £700 for side extension, footprint, carpet and windbreak.
Stretch tent out on a groundsheet. Feed all poles through the fabric and lay on the floor. Need another person to help you lift on other side. Together gradually lift back pole. Pin each side, one at a time. Clip the pole with the black clips. Peg out the back guys while other person keeps holding up pole. Start working way forward pinning each pole either side then clipping. Pull tent forward as each pole is finished to improve the tension. Then peg and guy. We have just got Norfolk Lake and couldn't believe how easy it was to put up.

Thanks for the info.
I don't suppose the OH will take any notice of what i tell him anyway - he doesn't do instructions!
Going to Norfolk with friends for my 40th birthday party to christen the BL6 - it was my birthday pressie - so lets hope the weather improves for the bank hols.
Yes. We had a vermont and it was a nightmare to lift. Couldn't believe how easy the Norfolk lake is to lift in comparision. The poly cottons are lovely. If you follow the above instructions it should go up like a dream. When lifting the first(back) pole just keep nudging it upwards bit at a time til you get it vertical. After this one the rest are easy.

I second what san321 says, getting the first pole up is the hardest, after that its easy.Remember to open all the doors to get as much air in as you can before lifting the first pole.

we used ours in france, brill. We put out the footprint then, with groundsheet zipped in, lay tent to suit, we then put in front pole and pegged, then back pole and pegged. we then put in centre two and then the strengheners. we added the canopy once the tent was up. It takes us just under and hour and a half to put up/take down and that is with all the air beds, cooker, lights etc. we leave the bedrooms in. We love it. Do make sure that you do not get too cocky when the weather is good. We left the plastic windows up and had a storm that night. we were flooded but it soon dried. Enjoy.
We've just had our first weekend in the Bear lake and we loved the tent... We even managed to comfortably seat 11 people in it for breakfast when it was raining!
Has anyone managed to pitch and store the BL6 with the ZIG still attached?
or is it too heavy to move about with the ZIG still on. It seems it would be much easier if we could leave it on.
we pitch ours with the zig on. it is heavy, but can be lifted by one strong person. we have it all in one bag, apart from the poles, but have been advised to separate the zig for Winter storage. It is so much easier to pitch with the zig already on!!
Re opening the zips when pitching, i can see how the air would help, we kept them closed so that we didn't end up with the tent on the "wonk" after pegging. The front door seemed tight if we didn't keep it zipped at this stage. maybe we are doing something wrong!!!
