...am trying to decide which set-up to aim for next year and am trying to choose between the Monty 6 and the Idaho(L or XL). I am currently favouring the Monty 6 slightly. Love the fact that it sounds quick to pitch(!) and I love the huge living space. If we get this, I'd also like to get the front extension. Does this make the pitch required huge? I can't see it as being a problem as there are so many pitch where you like campsites, and we currently take up even more room I guess because we have a Wynster Day tent! I thought I could sell that and just have the extension. How do you find this combo if you have them? Still like the Idaho, and the bedrooms being apart too...it's so hard deciding. We have looked at both and the kids don't mind as long as we have a Kids room to go with it!! DH's only comment is that we can't afford either at the moment (how negative!), but I like to plan ahead and reckon I might get a bargain at the end of the summer!

Thanks in advance

sandra

we bought the monty 6 at the end of last year and got it at a good price. go outdoors did have it for £199 i think someone else on here said but dont know how long for.

we have the extension for the monty and it was a great buy. we cooked under it and sat out under it and when we had a flash flood we still stayed dry. i think it added another meter or 2 to the size of the tent and we wont be let on one of our favourite sites with it but we can get on at our other 2 so for us not really a problem. just chek with the site before you book.

its easy to put up and take down and we can even get it back into the bag!!

we love our monty.

The bedroom arrangement of the Idaho Xl was what sold it to us and the living area is huge.  The porch on the Idaho is massive, we put our trailer inside ours to unload and you can get an extension for it too.  Love it x

We also looked at both of these tents. I wanted the monty for the side by side bedrooms, but my husband won and we have an Idaho XL. I personally think it was an excellent decision. The Idaho has the sealed large porch rather than an open extension. I also love the hanging area and the curtain that hides all the rubbish.
We also have the kids room, which is the best thing we bought.
We can completely erect the idaho pegs, guy rope and beds made in 45 mins so it is not too bad.

Good luck with your bargain hunting!
