Hi All

Just back from a 2nd weekend with my new tent (see above). I have two queries. We split one section of a fibreglass pole, how do I go about replacing/repairing it?

And secondly, any ideas about how to seal the bottom of the doors on the tent? It has a bathtub GS, but as the doors are not D ones they tend to flap around even when zipped down and are quite drafty.

Cheers for any ideas/Advice help

Google "gelert tent poles" and you'll have a choice of where to get replacements. All you'll need is a hacksaw to cut them to the proper length.

As for securing the bottom of the doors, I don't knoe the tent but if the doors don't have guying points you could buy some "cling-ons", inexpensive gadgets that attach temporarily or permanently without damaging the tent, and create extra pegging or attachment points. Then you could peg the door down in windy weather.

This http://www.outdoorgear.co.uk/eshop.asp?wci=search&wce=poles&go.x=63&go.y=11 will take you to poles, and this http://www.clingon.co.uk/ will take you to the cling-on site.

Hi Neil

We have the Horizon 8 and having been away this week and experienced high winds and rain storms I know what you mean about the doors.  To solve the problem we simply placed an extra tent peg in the ground and looped the bottom of the door mudflap around this peg (this can easily be done from the inside of the tent) and found that this helped to keep out the draughts.

We have the Horizon 6 and also ended up doing what Lisa did - just hook the door around a peg - pretty easy to do, although, I quite like that breeze as it keeps the cond. down (if that's possible).  Like the tent though, do you?  We also split a pole, the middle black one trying to get the d... thing in the ring pin things.  We also need a replacement, but have been told by our local camping shop to bring in the replacement poles we already have and they'll sort it out for nothing.  Where are you located?

Hi

Think the Velcro loops are for Electric Cable which can enter through the little red zips at the bottom of the tent.

Have come up with a more perm solution to the drafts...snap on eyelets seem to work well and don't damage the tent. Not practical for the main entrance but works a treat on the side/back door.

Do Yeomans repair poles? My nearest is in Bury. Or are there any other camping stores in North Manc thay do?

Cheers for all the advice
