Surely the L is big enough (we are a family of four)? Am still tempted by the xl as its only £50.00 more. If you are an Idaho owner, which one did you plump for and why?

Hi. I went for the L for 3 of us while my friend went for the XL for her family of 4. Obviously the living space is bigger in the XL but it was the difference in the size of the bedrooms that mattered to us. The L bedroom can fit 3 self inflating mattresses in easily, and you can fit 4 in the XL so I guess it depends on what your sleeping arrangements are going to be. Hope this helps !!

We are a family of 4 with an Idaho XL. . We opted for the XL and after spending a very wet weekend in it we were very grateful for the extra living space and space in the kids bedroom for them to play.

The Idaho is a fantastic tent we are really pleased with it. We could have managed with the L, but if you have the cash go for the XL. You will then have room to take extra people away with you!

Hi, we are a family of 4 and have the XL.  Although we have only pitched it in the garden, the space is fantastic.  The corridors are wider on the XL, giving plenty of room for the kids to play, and for a wardrobe etc without infringing on the main living area. 

I think it greatly depends on how you value your space, especially in wet weather if you are couped up inside.  I think personally for us we would feel a little cramped in the Idaho L and for £50 extra, I'd say go for it.
