Just come back from Edale, camped in our new BL 6.
Had a few teething problems like zipper for groundsheet put on wrong way round which we managed to sort.
Anyway just to say tent was fab in every way, comfortable and cosy. I'm giving polycotton tents a big thumbs up and if you're in the market for a new tent i'd say these should be top of the list.
All the best

Hi Linda
Welcome to the BL6 fan club.
I agree with you Bear Lakes are the BEST!
We've just come back from our 1st weekend in ours and we loved it. There is such a great feel to it and we comfortably fitted 11 people in it to eat breakfast when it was raining!
I can't wait to go out again in ours
I too have just purchased a bear lake 6 and used it for the first time in august, what a tent we love it. I have to ask linda how big is your staircase to dry this tent its huge and v.heavy!!
did anyone have any problems with the side stabiliser bars, they were difficult to get to, kept catching on the webbing and were really awkward to put in and take out and very stiff button catches we thought
I also love our BL6 but find it too much for a weekend....brave you!
The dside bars are OK if you swivvel them inways so they will not catch on the mesh. We put the groundsheet on the wrong way round first time so a mark saying which side up (or down) would help....we wrote on ours then realised what we had written...."front bottom"..! it is in full view too!!
Just wish:
mesh on front door, more velcro on curtains, more pockets in bed areas, better way of closing outer doors on windowseg more velcro perhaps/, a few more loops inside for hanging coats etc, but all pretty minor as so much is really spot on.

Do you lay the ZIG down before you put the tent up,or do you erect the tent then spread the groundsheet out.I suppose doing it that way you would have to remove the inner.

We have the wolf lake but I guess it goes up very similar to the Bear lakes. We put the tent up first then lay out the ZIG. Then we attach the inners. I would guess its a nightmare trying to fold up the tent with the ZIG and inners attached.
By the way our tent is draped over our banister from the weekend still. It didnt get wet with rain, but it was still wet from the dew on sunday morning. It dried within 3 hours in the house but the problem we have now is that there hasnt been a dry enough day since for our lawn to dry out so we can lay the tent out to fold it back up!
I Know the feeling, our Sunvalley was damp when we packed up.We have removed the beds from the main bedroom and laid the tent on the floor. Our main bedroom is 18 x 12 feet.We only have a small spare bedroom so its the Aero beds tonight for us.What you do for your beloved tent.
