Hi everyone, we have seen a Gelert Lokon Vario 6 at a very good price and having read the reviews on here we are very tempted. We would really like to see one erected but can't find one near us i.e. Derbyshire. What is meant by a detachable rising groundsheet, is this tent easy to erect, are the bedrooms separate pods or just divided and is there enough height for a 2-tier double airbed without our faces being right up against flysheet as in our other tent? Has anyone a photo of back of tent? We would really appreciate any feedback to help us make a decision.

We have a Gelert Lokon Vario 6 which is a year old now. I havent had a look to see if the latest model is any different but ours is supplied with 2 seperate groundsheets. You are supplied with a small groundsheet and a larger groundsheet so you can choose whether you want the front door at the very front or unzipped and zipped in further back which then gives you a porch but smaller living area. Ours has two pods - 1 is 4 birth the other 2 birth. These are seperate pods and you can choose to leave one of them out if you wish. We have a double Coleman Comfort airbed and there is ample room for that without us being right up to the flysheet. The Lokon Vario 6 ticks all our boxes.
We have just seen this tent at a local camping showroom and are also very tempted!!! Sorry I can only help with one question which is that the bedrooms are separate pods and as Steve W52 says they were 4 and 2 berth.
We have seen it for £250 and I'm not sure if this includes the canopy??? Not sure this is a good price...I've found it for £219.99 on the web but it's sold out :-(
Thanks Steve and Welshrach for your prompt replies which have been really helpful. We really like the look of this tent and being 5.8M X 4M in size it probably fits on most pitches unlike our 4 bedroom pod tent which caused us some problems but had less usable living area than the Gelert.
Here's a link Welshrach for £160 if there is any still in stock......

We had the same problem last year when we bought it. Dredged the internet and found lots of bargain prices including free canopy and windbreak but they were all sold out. Eventually bought it from Waudbys without canopy and Windbreak but not too bad a price. Cost me £199.95 then. I've noticed that Waudbys dont seem to be advertising it now.
I've just placed my order! Hoping it arrives in time for a trial before this weekend's camping trip now!!! Will try and find the canopy on-line now too.
Did you go for it or are you still deciding? Let me know if you are after more info and I'll take some pics for you when we get ours up.

Hope it arrives for your trip, and everything is alright with your order. We are still undecided and would much appreciate any info or photos.

Just got a call and they are out of stock :-(
We have gone with the Vario 5 instead at £139.99 so hoping that will be OK size wise for us. Should be as it's only me, hubbie and 2 dogs!
Will give you a full report when we get back next week!
Hi again Welshrach, how did you get on with the Vario 5?
We've finally taken the plunge and bought a Vario 6 at £150, which we consider a bargain! Problem is, we probably won't be able to pitch it till next year, unless we get some freak weather sometime soon. Hope we've made the right choice.

Our friends got one this year, lovely tent and very tall, the bedrooms are seperate and the grounsheet goes right under the bedrooms pods so keeps them clean.
------------- almost always Ruth
