Went to Winfields (Haslingden, Lancs) over the weekend to take a good look at the tents on my short list (see other thread).

Unfortunately they didn’t have many on my short list erected but the following caught my eye for different reasons:

1. Outwell Nebraska XL (with front extension) – 8 man therefore lots of room.

2. Gelert Lokon Vario 6 (with sun canopy) – moveable front wall to create larger/smaller porch/living area.

3. Outwell Montana 6 – toilet/closet room.

I also had a look at the Outwell Bear Lake which looked and felt fantastic (my wife’s favourite by a mile) although I personally couldn’t justify the additional spend compared with the Nebraska & Montana.

I hope to get out again this weekend probably Go Outdoors in Stockport.

Can anyone help with the following…

1. Why is the Gelert Lokon so cheap?
2. Is there anywhere besides Go Outdoors worth visiting in the NW?

If you like the Nebraska XL, why not try the Royal Pescara 8 - it has the same layout but with the canopy included plus a back annexe area that can be added on.  The annexe would make a toilet/storage area.

I was looking at the nebraska but with all the leaking problems that previous years model had  I was put off and got the Royal instead. World of camping have price matched it for at at £349.99, to match Intertent.co.uk prices.

Both places are staffed by people who know what they are talking about. The one in Bury has been going for years and they are very helpful.

Are you in Preston...? If so would the Go Outdoors in Wigan not be closer..?

If you want to travel to Ambleside then Yeomans have a good selection to look at. You could always phone them first and see what they have up to look at.

Told you it would become a harder decision once you got out ans saw them all up and beconing to you ... buy me.

The Royal Pescara 8 certainly looks good although I'll need to see one up before I buy.

Go Outdoors in Wigan is closer for me (from Preston). I didn't realise they had a shop there.

Too much choice

The Royal Pescara looks definately to me as a full copy of the Outwell design.

If I were Oase - I'd be mad as a hatterrrr and go to court ASAP with Royal!
