Looks like other manufacturers are jumping on the bandwagon (Vango Peace Tepee).
Quote from Vango's website:
'For the most glamourous of campers and festival goers who want to enjoy their cold drinks in luxury, the Peace Tepee offers the best of design, in cool Polycotton fabric. Peace, harmony, living with nature; it's almost as the Native American Indians intended. '
(Don't quite understand the reference to 'cold drinks', myself! , and dunno where the Native Americans kept their fridges to chill aforementioned drinks!)
The HH on all cotton / polycotton tents is far lower than polyester tents. The reason for this is the fibres on polycotton tents swell when they get damp making the fabric pretty water resistant without any proofing. All the polycooton fabrics have a light coating of proofing just to get the water to bead. If there was mare proofing on polycotton it would reduce the breathability which is one of the big features of cotton / polycotton tents.
As I already stated, I want one of these tents. I've been wondering what I could sell to get the funds together.
I've only just realised that I could probably get one of the well known Tipi tents in canvas for the same or less money. It's bed time for me now, but tomorrow I'm going to look into the prices against size for other well known makes. There are at least two up market manufacturers. I think Tentipi is one and a Bell tent company SoulPad perhaps may come in cheaper. So I'm off now to dream of tomorrows search for my perfect Tipi or Bell tent.
Well I couldn't wait so I just had a quick look on ebay and found SoulPad and they are cheaper. What do you think?
------------- Canvas tent, paraffin light, petrol stove. Heaven
I'd rather be kayaking.
Spent up, not pent up, just had my new tent up.
This one looks funky!! here Looks a bit more versatile than the outwell and a little cheaper! Sorry to make it more confusing...Rex put some options on another thread and they do look good!
