Well... I have made the commitment and bought a Vango large SUN canopy. The first thing to say is that it does NOT fit the tent perfectly to give you a completely sealed area on the front of the 600 tent. However saying this it is a SUN canopy and the instructions state not to put it up in a area of high winds or open areas. We put it up last week at St Neots and had a bit of a breeze and it was ok. It does have a couple of open bits near the entrance of the tent as it has an elaticated part that goes over the front porch pole, however because it cuts away in a curve away from the tent entrance you are left with a couple of foot gap either side. Saying this you may be able to move the whole thing closer to the tent and reduce this gap somewhat...i couldn't be bothered after I had put it up (on my own), it does need 2 people really to put up. It did give us cover from the showers and rain does not come in through the gaps to any great extent but i would not put a carpet down if you were expecting rain. All in all though it gives us a place to put the cooking stuff and the fold up table and chairs so we can go out in the morning or night and sit out and watch the world go by without being in the rain or getting a nasty draft/any breeze that may be a bit cold. All in all for £39 a fab buy. Just don't expect it to keep you dry/up in a gail....after all and to Vango's defence it is a SUN canopy!
VANGO if you are reading this you need to be more clearer on what fits what, you are not doing yourself any favours with the camping fraternity that have bought your products.
Cheers
Steve

The gap between your tent and canopy does seem rather large. A friend of mine has the Orchy 500 and we positioned the canopy so that there was much more overlap between tent and canopy. The gap between the two was, therefore, much smaller - negligible. I've also seen photos on other members' profiles of the large canopy on a Orchy 600 that had a small gap. I'm sure that you could narrow that gap somewhat.
Hello Chris. First post!! Welcome to the forum. I bought the large canopy I mentioned above on behalf of my friend from the Outdoor World shop in Warrington. Although their website advertises at £49 I was sold one for £39 - in fact, I have a niggling thought that it may even have been £35. Being the honest sort I pointed out the discrepancy but they just said that that was the price on the system.
Thanks for the information FormerScout. We have an Orchy 500 on order, and have thinking of purchasing a canopy, will try and upload some photos if we ever get the two together.
