Firstly, hello to you all!

I'm not really a fervent camper, and recently bought a Vango Dart 200 pop up tent for using at festivals and so on.. and I have quite an odd query.

I was initially very impressed by the tent in terms of ease of pitching and internal space. However upon use for a nights camping, I encountered a nasty problem with it.

My boyfriend and I settled down to sleep at about 1pm. We both awoke around an hour later and I was extremely short of breath and felt as though I was choking. Upon asking Karl if he felt alright, he informed me that he was feeling the same way and immediately told me to open the tent door, and then that he suspected we were being poisoned by carbon dioxide.

It was at this point we realised the tent did not have a vent of any description, so the air which we were breathing in and out was not circulating inside the tent and so had slowly become devoid of oxygen.

I would like to know if any of you have known of this problem in the past, as I for one think it is extremely serious and i'd like to get together proof of a few more cases and see what Vango will do about it.

That sounds very scary!
We have a dart 200 the only problem we had was the horrendous amount of condensation in it.

We did have the tent open a small amount at the bottom so we have a bit of movement of air.

Glad you are both ok, lets see what anyone else says

Hi. The Vango website says this is about the Dart:

" This easy to pitch and easy to pack pop-up tent is perfect for festivals and weekends away. Due to its single skin construction it is recommended when sleeping in this tent that the zip at the base of the door should be open for ventilation. The zip is adjustable and has a cover so that it can remain fully or partially open depending on weather conditions. " 

Is there a label anywhere on the tent or the bag that also says this? Sounds like there needs to be! MT
