And haven't stopped grinning yet, took a dodgy print out of the Yeomans Outdoors advert selling the tent for £299 to Go Outdoors & guess what, they matched it & knocked 19% off even though its been out of stock for a week at Yeomans.
Went to pick up the pole bag & nearly shot over the top of it, its that heavy.
Tried to get the foot print but apparently Go Outdoors don't do Outwell footprints.
Phoned Winfields & they said they would phone Hull & ring me back, rang me & they had it next morning so saved me the delivery.
So 3 big well dones from me. 1 for Yeomans for the original advert & price. 2 for Go Outdoors for matching it even though it was out of stock & 3 Winfields for speed & effort with customer service.
Hope its dry next week because we are going to risk it what ever its like.

That's a whole lot of tent for the money, well done. this has got to be the best time of the year to buy a tent as you have proved, especialy if we believe all the reports of tent rrp's going up by over 20% for the 2009 season, time I was getting a tent that you can stand up in, me thinks.

Thats why we got it Francais, we love the Hartfords but the sleeping pods are starting to play havoc on our old bones. so now we can stand up in them & not have to get up in 2's to go for a pee.
Well done you! I am waiting for our Idaho XL to arrive from Yeomans (who ran out of stock whilst still advertising it on their website. They are having to get more stock in from Outwell to honour orders.) Can't wait to try ours out. Let us know what you think.

Sandra it was brilliant, just a couple of things that might make life easier, when you first put it up open the front & back door & get inside to get some air in or the suction makes it really difficult to get up.
Outwells video shows them pulling all the poles up & pegging it out, forget it,do one pole at a time & make sure the tent is central on the curved cross bars other wise the ground sheet comes off the ground.
I will do a full review but these 2 tips will really help you I hope.

you did well there,My local Go outdoors checked the Yoemans site before price matching so wouldn't beat the Yoeman one by 10%. Had to resort to plan B and got it for 303.You did real well.
Cheers,I will be using a lot next year I think,Only just got the Idaho xl so need some pointers on other accessories soon. I am sure I will get plenty of advice on here.
I'm new here too. Our Idaho XL came yesterday from Yeomans, and crikey the pole bag is heavy!! Cant wait to try it out but as its getting so cold at night we might have to wait until next year. Its too big to try out in the garden so I might have to take it to the park as I want to be sure its all in one piece! We also got the front extension, out of interest do you know most campsites will take a tent of this size? Our first tent was an Outwell Kansas 5, so tiny in comparison.

There's a bit here that talks about sites accepting 'larger' tents was very interesting for us with our Georgia XL, but the site we used a lot in the Peak Disctrict (very very basic) really didn't bother what size your tent was.
Thanks for the link Andi. I get the impression some sites are more relaxed about their pitches than others. We've only been camping twice in the Kansas 5, but are hooked, hence the bigger tent! Really looking forward to next season.
Sue, I know what you mean about being hooked, we started off with a £30 tent this year, closely followed (after one night out) by a new Georgia XL which has now been followed by a Dandy FC so we can camp through the winter!!!
Hi there, well the weather was so nice this weekend we tried the Idaho for the first time and we're not disappointed. Easy enough to put up - took your advice Cliff which worked a treat. Its huge inside the the kids loved it. Took a few goes to get it back in the bag though!
The first campsite we tried turned us away because of the size of it, though. We should have checked first but was a very last minute decision to go away, but considering they were part of the Friendly Club, they weren't too friendly about it. Still we found another site just down the road and they could not have been more helpful. The weather was superb for October! We only did one night but it really is a fab tent and can see us spending weeks in it next summer.
