We got ourselves a Diablo earlier in the year and had two successful weekend trips. We have just come back from our first proper camping trip with four broken poles! The elastic in one of the poles has broken and three poles have spilt. There was a breeze but it was not what I would consider very windy.
Any idea why this has happened and if it's something we did wrong?
I came away from the whole experience rather disheartened.
Don't forget to leave a review of all tents you've used, for a chance to win fantastic prizes
that must be disappointing. We have survived, gales and storms for the last 4 years in our trusty 400...Mind you erecting can be a bit fraught...until OH decides to listen to instructions rather than just pushing and pulling regardless!
You should be fine though...you bought a quality tent from a reputable company that won't just disappear when you need parts replacing.
Didn't want to start a new thread just for this but it seems to be an absolute bargain..Cabanon plus roof box just for the price of a roof box...175 quid. No,it's not mine !!
Someone on here bought a tent off ebay this weekend, someone who was selling two cos they`d bought a caravan, and its mouldy and torn, if you`re looking at this find the thread and ask her who her ebay seller was.
We're all sorted now. Went back to the shop we got the tent from and they have given us a new set of poles. I'm still at a loss as to why it happened and hope it wasn't something we had done. We're all packed away now ready for next year.
Probably nothing you did muddy puddle. Your original poles were problably damaged in some way. Slight cracks or something. We had the 400 for a year and, like mousemaids, it stood up to all sorts with no pole damage.
