Generally speaking, I'm sure that this time last year dealers had more camping equipment in stock. Or am I just imagining this?
I could well imagine that last June's torrential rain and floods had a big impact on sales of camping equipment. Perhaps this year the dealers placed smaller orders to avoid having excess stock at the end of the season?

Could be that like everybody else that camping retailers are feeling the credit squeeze and can't afford to tie up capital in large amounts of stock. Supermarkets have been doing it for years with the *just in time* method of retailing.
