as some of you know i have a prism 8 tent and what a wonderful buy it is.

reading a post someware on this messageboard there was a discussion on this tent and one of their  re

plies to this topic said that they would be interested in this tent, but it does not have a canopy this got me thinking.

yesterday i purchused a OUTWELL tarp and as it is a inverted V shape it matches the front of the prism and is same height but blue in colour, but does not look bad against the grey and black of the prism.

what i am going to do is sow some velcro along the edge of the pelmet of the prism this pelmet has no use and is there as deceration and serves no purpose except to flap about in the wind and make a noise and sew some velcro along edge of tarp to match the pelmet on prism.

this will then give me a large canopy in front of prism and also stop the pelmet flapping.i will install the velcro as soon as i get suitable weather, will post photos as soon as done

Jeff- the tarp sounds and looks a great idea.

Can you give me an idea of what you bought and what you did, so I can start getting my Prism ready for the spring?

Thanks

Rachel

Can't wait to see your pics, I've been looking at the Vango Adventure tarp for exactly the same reason!

Just a thought but could you not use self adhesive velcro along the flappy bit 24 to save sowing?

Would the Vango family shelter be a better idea??? ..... its a lot bigger than the adventure tarp and from what I saw the colour looks very similar to the prism's (the one I saw was black and grey) I'm seriously considering one, Not to "attach" to the tent but to use free standing in front of or along side the Prism as a little added extra.....

My local CS has them for 40 squid at the moment

Hi Caz,

yes they do post stuff...

Its Camping and General (campingandleisure.co.uk) they had them in store but they are not advertised on the website (as far as I could see) I would recommend giving them a ring and asking nicely, the service there is fab and generally nothing is too much trouble!!!

I think I am popping back on Thursday to pur-chase one myself
