Probably waiting for the last minute. When it is a high value item with a high starting price people don't like to show their hand too early and risk pushing the price up. It does also mean that you could miss out if someone then puts in a maximum bid which is the same as yours, as if this is the highest bid it will go to the bidder who put it in first.

Sorry if that's a bit garbled, I'm just about to go to bed after a 12 hour waking night shift.

i dont really understand ebay either but its got about 6 days to go so would have thought shouldnt put in a bid too early. Isn't there a system where you can put in auto bidding or somemthing? I'm sure you could get some info from the ebay experts if you put a post up asking for advice. Good luck if you're going for it. We'll have to do a twin Guadeloupe meet x
