Hello All,

I'm just considering buying the trout lake carpet and extension (2008) after reading the other forums.

Just a quick question about the carpet.... does it go under the bedrooms or does it just cover the living area of the tent?

Many Thanks

Emma

Also how easy is the carpet to clean as we have two young children!

Thanks again,

Hi Emma, not sure about whether it goes under the bedroom or not, but as far as cleaning, I have just bought one for our tent and we also have 2 young kids, but I've been reliably informed that they repell dirt etc quite well also if they do get manky they can be hosed down and left to dry!!

I plan to hoover mine when we get home and if any really dirty marks just to spot clean, or at the end of season give it a shampoo before next year!!

We've got one in the Norflok Lake and it just goes in the living area, can't comment on cleaning as ours is usually just dust and we shake that off on the washing line whenwe get home!

Hi Emma

Im sure you have had a look around on the web but ive just tried and it looks like all the 08 extensions have gone for the Trout Lake. Looks like the extension for 09 is going to be around £200.00 - £220.00.

Regards

Gary Cross

Hi Emma trout lake owner here and the carpet fits the living area only and stays very clean and is easy to brush off any dirt etc and so far we have'nt had to hose it,deffo worth its weight in gold for comfort and looks, and the extension is a must for the extra space for sitting under  when wet etc...also in the extension area we lay down a groundsheet and throw a rug over for added comfort....

and in the bedroom area we just lay down a couple of those plastic backed tartan rugs the kind you get from argos etc to lay under the airbeds etc...

also worth getting the footprint groundsheet that fits under the tents main groundsheet as it helps keep it clean and dry, when striking camp just bung the footprint in a black bag and give it a hose down when you get home...

not sure what the prices are now as some places have bumped the prices up beyond belief for 2009 but on ebay  the footprint is £22.50 and the carpet £42.50 both prices inc postage...

Hello,

Thanks for all your advice. I managed to get the trout lake carpet (2008), it looks mega!! I haven't been so lucky with the extension though. I'll have to wait till the shops stock up with the 2009 model.

Hi squirt,

Just had a quick search regarding the front extension, it might be worth checking with outdoormegastore.co.uk They appear to have stock at £209.00.

I have never delt with this store so cannot recommend.

Clegg.
