Well, look at this one. Going to have to check out the sellers website now

http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/710-5232-2978-1/1?AID=9479574&PID=1428744&mpre=http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VAUDE-BADAWI-TC-FAMILY-TENT-4-BERTH-PERSONS-SAND-NEW_W0QQitemZ300291073909QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_SportsLeisure_HikingCamping_Tents_JN?hash=item300291073909&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A4|65%3A10|39%3A1|240%3A1318

or is it German??

Anyway they list it as a Pyramid tent?

Hey Keely,

Vaude are German

We saw one of those so called pyramid things last weekend in De Vrijbuiter and they are not very big !

There was also a similar model with a kind of porch thing on the front and we had to duck to get in

And they were alot less than that ebay price.

Plus if they were Dutch then they would be cotton or polycotton.

Hi. the Vaude Badawis have been around quite  a long time. They used to be called something else but I can't remember what!

I saw one up on a UKCS meet about four or five years ago. They are attractive , different looking tents and in the nylon version are very light with a small pack size. There are two different layouts, the standard one with sideways on sleeping in the two pods, and the Badawi Long which has slightly bigger pods with head to door sleeping. I was a bit disappointed  when I has a closer look at the one on the UKCS meet because there are no mudflaps at all, no groundsheet as standard (you can buy one as an extra) and only one big flappy door. Reviews here .

I wouldn't really call the badawis pyramid tents becuase to me a pyramid tent is defined by the single central supporting pole, but maybe that's just me.

Thanks Angie   I did wonder about them - especially at that price. The seller seems to have done a really good listing too so I din't think it would be an eBay special tent.

It just goes to show that looking at them is a must before buying.

I'm so glad you are in Holland - sort of a foreign tent correspondant

Just so you all know - I do not intend bidding or buying

Hi All
well according to the write up it is a Dutch polycotton or Technical cotton as some call it,it as semi geodesic pole system that will make it stronger as good quality aluminium poles,
It as all that is right, to make a first class tent,I would like to see one out on a site. and lets face it you would require Klingons to go with that Tardis not clinons
Regards
Rex
