Last year I bought a blue Outwell Iowa from go outdoors for the great price of £159, it is a fab wee weekend tent. My problem is with this years colour.

My tent is blue and this years is green. I would like to get the extension but I think it would look totaly daft??

Does any one have any idea if the universal canopy would be an option.

The universal side canopy is grey.

vango do a tunnel tent extension in navy, about £45 on ebay. gelert also do one for the horizon tents also comes in blue, but not like the outwell blue colour ,darker  but again about half the price of the outwell one.  Better than green though.

the sun valley blue is like the Iowa, you may still be able to get one of these on ebay.

I think the grey would go more with the blue than the green, we do kinda like our kit to match do we not?
How inconsiderate of outwell!

But do do you think the universal would fit?

check the size of the green canopy for your tent  and compare it with the size of the grey one.

Most of the tunnel canopies are about the same dimensions across the different brands.

This is the Iowa canopy

And this is the universal

I'm in the same boat. Probably a stupid question but would the universal canopy be too deep for the Iowa, ie would the fabric reach the door on the other side? I may just get the green and be a bit on the colourful side!! Also considering the green kids room so maybe it will all just blend......

Cheers for the two diagrams. its amazing when you loook at the dimensions, because the universal does not look as wide in the picture but it is 15cm larger and most likely would cover the door way.

Can anyone who has the universal tell me how it attach's

I've just ordered the green one.  I figure it was designed to go on my tent (albeit in a different colour) and so theoretically it should fit!

I haven't used it yet, as we decided to take the Hartford on our first trip this season as a trial run for packing for France later on.  However, I'll be using the Iowa in August and intend to take the extension with me then.  Would be interested to hear from anyone else who has used it in the meantime though!
