We have had this tent for a couple of seasons now and absolutely love it. It is heavy to get up but being a tunnel tent it is a straight forward process. Once up it feels lovely and light and spacious. We have been out in all sorts of weather over the last 2 years and have never had a problem at all.  I think the steel poles make it more stable in the wind and we have never had any problems with leaking etc.We try to pitch it with the back to any prevailing wind and peg all the points and all the guys every time.

You have a bath tub ground sheet with this tent that attaches to the side of the tent with toggles. You can undo the ground sheet so that it lies flat under the door. This is useful to stop you tripping over it, but remember to toggle it back up if it rains. We forgot to do this one night and we did get a puddle under the door.

I agree, this was a perfect tent for us when we started camping, stood up to LOTS of wind and rain last yeaar very well, and when we did have sunshine, the canopy was fab!!

More questions about outwell indiana 8 as I have just purchased second hand one. Does anyone know if the outwell kids room can be attatched to this tent and I am after a canopy too but can not find any info on outwell site? Thanks

They dont do a kids room or a canopy, however the outwell universal canopy should fit. or this sun porch could be a good one too.

Regarding the kids room, it might work with the sun valley 8 kids room, but the fixings could be different.

Yes I did make it myself, I'd got fed up with the kitchen getting rained on all the time.

I bought some of this off ebay (item 140258117298) and sewed it under the existing canopy. Made some ties along the sides to attach to the poles and it worked a treat!

Only thing was it didnt go back up when we didnt need the sides down because it was permanently stitched on, so would probably be better to add some ties into the underneath of the existing canopy and just make one to attach it to the sides when you need it.

Really worked though, totally worth doing, beats the dodgy B&Q blue tarp concoction we did one windy camping trip, kept us aake all night with the constant rustling. The ripstop was quiet as the tent!
