Do you think this is a good deal??- answers on a postcard or sealed envelope!!!- as you maybe able to tell I am a total newbie, don't want to be ripped off and (like everyone else at the moment... credit crunch etc..) want a good deal!

Yes , if its in good condition .

2008 model was £329ish , carpet £50ish footprint £20 ish extension £90ish.

2009 model is about £400 , same tent.

Can you see the tent up first , if its local thats the best thing to do, even if you have to go to a park to put it up.  , Check all the zips work properly and that there are no rips holes etc. if its on ebay check their feedback and ask all the questions regarding condition first .

If it's second hand I'd want to see the tent in the flesh. This sounds like it was bought last year by someone who had a go at camping and then gave up.   What we see on here every year are lots of newbies who don't realist that they really do need to make sure their tent is absolutely dry before packing it away. They only discover that it wasn't six months later when they get it out again to discover mould and mildrew.

If you can't inspect it fully then ask them to absolutely confirm to you that there is no mould/mildrew and at least you can rely on that to chuck it back at them if it's manky.
