I have just purchased an Outwell Nevada M, was also planning to buy a canopy/extension but was told that the extension does not fit the M only the L ?? does anyone know of anything different as i would like an extension :o)

What you've been told is correct. The Nevada extension is made for the L version, where is fits onto the side of the vis-a-vis style tent. The Nevada M is a totally different shape tent and they don't make an extension for it. Have a look at the Outwell web site for further info.
It is important to consider extension possibilities when you're choosing your tent. If you haven't unpackaged it yet your retailer might allow you to refund it against something that does have extension possibilities. The Nevada M is a very popular tent size, all manufacturers do something similar. The Vango Orchy has extensions for example.
We have the Nevada M and love it as a short break tent for the 4 of us and our boxer. For the extension try the Coleman Classic awning. A bargain at less then £30 and it fits perfectly over the front or the side. The colour is even a close match as well.
Is that a stand alone extension or does it attach to the tent, soory to not know what i am talking about but i am new to camping and the Nevada is mt 1st tent

Oh No ! Having very nearly made the decision to get a Nevada M am a bit gutted it has no proper extension. On the Outwell site it includes an extension on the same page as the M so I went back to the site and as Midge21 points out it will not fit as different shape which I hadn't realised. Thanks Midge21 !Will watch this space !
I have also just purchased the Nevada M. I was considering getting an extension and didn't realise that it does not fit the M. Anyway, I'm now thinking of running the new mocca tarp alongside the tent to provide a cooking/shelter area.
Got the tent from the NEC, still waiting for Yeoman's to come up with the goods. Was hoping to get away camping with it next weekend.

£260 for the tent, footprint and carpet! I must have pushed a harder bargain!
We got -
Outwell Nevada M, footprint & carpet
Outwell Dawson folding picnic table
Outwell Reclining Chair deluxe X 2
All for £400. Not bad really. I went to get the Outwell Indian Lake, but didn't really like it up close. Too dark inside. Think the novelty would have worn off by next year.
Buffymummy - I didnt mention the Nevada extention !!
I have the Coleman Classic and it fits a treat. It doesnt attach to the tent but guy ropes pass over the tent and secures with pegs. Lots of room to sit under.
this the coleman canopy, £29.99 from argos the pic shown is useless as it doesn't show how its attached , but it shows the beige colour , also badly . At least with argos you can return it if the colour turns out to be nothing like you expect.
Here is a bettter pic of the blue colour, (which I think is now discontinued , ) showing it attached to the side of a tent .
We bought the Nevada M last year and it's perfect for the 4 of us. Also bought the Outwell Universal Side Canopy which fits onto the side or front. Part of the canopy goes over the top of the tent and then pegs out over the other side, so it's a sturdy and snug fit and makes a good extension for shelter and your kitchen gear. We found it more useful on the front as it protected the big front door. Overall, would have preferred a tent with it's own canopy but couldn't find anything we like better than the Nevada M. Outwell canopy was a bit expensive (about £60 I think), but well worth it.

We bought the Nevada M last year and got lots of use out of it. Its a lovely bright and spacious tent for w/e's or even longer.
The only downside we found was that it was lacking a side extension canopy, but with the weather being so cold and wet last year, we found we didn't have the door open for long anyway to be honest. We had looked at the Outwell Universal canopy, so its good to know that it fits quite well. Also good to know that the Coleman canopy is an option - for £29.99 it seems very good value.
I know it's personal choice, but wonder why Outwell have changed the colour, because even if they had of brought out an extension for this tent, it would'nt matched last years model, which we think was much nicer colour.
