Has anyone experience of either of these tents? Need help choosing.  Like size of Overlander and looks easy to put up with usual Khyam fast erect system.  But concerned about lack of SIG.  Coleman is heavy and may be a beast to put up.  Any other ideas to suit me and 3 kids (16,14 & 8).  Willl be camping 2 weeks in summer at Tristram in Polzeath where pitches limited in size so need to be not too big, but big enough to cope with possibly 2 weeks of bad weather. Plus some weekends.

Hi. I've camped on Tristram and those pitches are tight so you are right to be thinking about a tent with a neat footprint.

With a 14 and 16 year old on board to help you should be able to look at any reasonable sized tunnel tent but as you have concerns about ease of erection then the Khyam QEs are a good choice. Rather than an Overlander which is a bit of a straggly shape, look around the net at the Khyam Classic XLs or XXLs which are still available but at bargain prices if you click about eg herehere. You can minimise drafts by pegging down the draft flaps inside the tent and/or dropping an oversized groundsheet on top of them.

Good luck, the views from Tristram are lovely and it couldn't be closer to the beach!

PS To be honest I wouldn't fancy one of the newer Khyams that have a sig. As the fly, poles and groundsheet are all permanently attached to each other they must be total pigs to dry off if you take one home wet. Imo!
