Well I was passing Winfields store at Haslingden and noticed the Tent display had just been populated with a whole bunch of Tents, many new models from Outwell, Vango etc, to long to list, So of course I had to call in, I spoke to staff who were just putting the finishing touches to the displays, many Tents still awaiting there price tickets, but no doubt all will be completed to-day, all tents on display are Polyester, not a single Polycotton Tent in sight, staff said that the Polycotton tents had become to expensive for this season and they will not be displaying/Stocking any, although they do have a Bear Lake in stock from 2008 going for £799, which is from stock, not an ex-display item, bargain then for somebody on here maybe.

Ouch £799 for a 2008 Bear Lake 6 that way to high, thats the going price for the new 2009 model, If you look you can get a brand new 2008 Bear Lake 6 for around the £650 mark if not cheaper

Hi rickit.

Never checked prices, and I don't much about Outwell's as they don't do Cotton Canvas, still could be worth giving Winfields a call, as they ain't putting that Bear Lake on display, so the only way they are gona sell it, is they get a call, I would say go in at £500 and see what they say. I am sure it must be worth that?.

We were out there last Sunday, popped in after a walk round Calf Hey to get my little boy a new sigg bottle. They had a big sign up saying the new tent display would be up at the beginning of March and that was the first of March ... I felt cheated !!

Might just have to have another trip along. I don't need another tent but I love looking at them.

Hi Atherwitzend.

Just a pity they don't have any Polycottons on display, as a retailer you would think the would just have one of each Vango and Outwell, if for to order only, I am sure the manufacturers would have backed them up, the difference in Vango and Outwell Polycotton's is quite noticebal, the Vango offering is more lightweight, but still a lot more substantial than the Polyester, when you are over this way again, pop into Castlecroft Camping at Radclifffe, they have an indoor display that features Vango Polycottons.

I feel a visit to my brother coming up - he lives very near Haslingden so it'll be a good excuse to just 'pop in' and see the tents as I'm over that way!!

Yep - I reckon go in at £500 too - I got mine at the start of Jan for £520 from Yeomans, brand new 2008 model.... pretty pleased when I see the price of them now and I can't see any difference in design....

Went today - they have around 30 on display if you also count the small 2 man ones

They have Vango, Khyam and Outwell

They have an Outwell Florida 6 which looks stunning !!!

They have changed the layout of the store - I couldn't find their stock of tents anywhere and hence couldn't see if the bear lake is still there

I think the only polycotton they had last year was the Bear Lake, can't recall any others, maybe they don't have any new ones in yet to put one on display.

Over the winter they have had their tent stock in the bike building (the one that used to be the rement/reject place)
