Hi I have only pitched mine twice but found it a bit of a pig as the instructions are very unclear. I think the thing to do is to put it up like a tunnel and then once it is up put the side poles in as I tried to do it all in one and it is very heavy and awkward. Also put the groundsheet down first, and attach all the toggles. I put it in last as they suggest and had to unhook the entire bedrooms to hook it up. Getting the whole thing back in the bg is a struggle but I think outwell tents are always too big for their bags. amazing quality.
We're in the same boat as you with Utah, extension and carpet and no opportunity for test pitch yet! We were going to try on Saturday but it was rather too windy so we would have been flying a Utah Kite instead.
As it's been discontinued the Outwell website doesn't still have the demonstration video - however in a rare moment of foresight a few months ago we downloaded both that and the one for the extension for future reference. If you email me at poppypod at bigfoot dot com I could see if they are small enough to email back? I can't find them anywhere else on t'internet.
The video does make it look quite easy, but that could be deceptive.

Just felt I HAD to reply as we also have a Utah 6 ready for the season.
We have had one test run - our garden was long enough but not quite wide enough for the 'porch' to be put up at full stretch.
I would agree with jenniec77 - with the groundsheet attatched it makes it quicker and easier, we have left it attached to go back in the bag.
We pretty much did it as in the video, once those main poles are in and up it the 'battle' is almost won. It is much easier than our 6 man dome tent - very happy.
hi to all heres the link to or family putting up utah 6 plus extension this monday itwas a glorious day weatherwise we had loads of fun we have a campsite in our village and the owner never charged us a penny what a bonus!
The pics on your pages were invaluable thanks, Dave and Max. As well as everyone's advice.
I got my new Utah 8 up today, after a bit of fiddling. Have left groundsheet attached for next time but going to put sleeping inners in after pitched.
Beginning to think I've done something wrong though, as there are a couple of O rings sewn in under the middle of the bedroom pods about 12 inches back from the front of them. What are they for? If I attach the bedroom toggle tp them at the middle at the front it sort of pulls the bedroom back in too far. Or have they been stitched in the wrong place?
Iordered the Outwell Utah 8 today ( discounted as its discontinued)
Just as an FYI, the set-up instruction video and pdf file are still on the Outwell website (see link below). You can't navigate to it from the tents section but its still there.
