Thanks ever so much for your responses guys. Really appreciate it!

The Duvet Thief and I are going to take some display expeditions this weekend and have a good look and poke about in as many tents and at as much kit as we can.

As we're not at all interested in "glamping" (if I understand the term correctly) - the simplicity (relatively speaking) is a big part of the attraction for us, and as we're expecting to be weekenders for the most part, we aren't looking to acquire a whole ton of equipment.

Hopefully we'll get an inkling of what is decent quality gear and what really would be useful.

Thanks again,

Sharon.

I've just received the waterfall 5 tent and tried it in the back garden.

It's easy to put up - I only needed my son to stand on the poles at the other side to stop them slipping when erecting it.  Other than that, I put it up in about 20 mins on my own for the first time.  It took me longer to put it away as the breeze wanted to play, and of course it's a puzzle to get it back into the bag!

The sleeping section will fit 3 if not 4 inflated single beds in and has an extra section to partition it into a smaller and larget section if you wanted.  There is plenty of headroom - I'm 5-7 and I could still have a lamp hanging above my head - IF there were any loops for hanging stuff from anywhere.

It should be great for basic weekend camping for the 4 of us (kids are 9 & 6).

I have just bought a new bag to try and prize it all into though!

Unfortunate name for a tent...

Lol true :)

I have seen one in a store. For 2 people and a dog , IMHO it is fine,

Large enough to sit inside if the weather is bad too
