Hello,

Reviews http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/tents/preview.asp?id=62

I've posted elsewhere on the choice between two Coleman tents but all responses have been for the Cedar Creek. No bargains these days and ebay prices are a bit rich for second hand at £100 when I could get a brand new X5 for £205 delivered.

Has anybody seen a Sector X5 on their travels? There aren't that many camping shops up here in Scotland and with the tent being so new there are no reviews as yet.

Also, the Coleman website is utterly rubbish. Now it's down I can't get any info and they haven't replied to an email for more information from last week.

Have you seen one pitched in a showroom or on a site? Any views or comments would be appreciated.

Seen one in a camping store but never owned one

We did have a weathermaster which seemed to be the same bedroom pods, groundsheet, fittings etc but in a different shape.

How many people is it for? The reason I ask is that there are 2 bedrooms which would take 2 each but the living space is not huge.

If the 3 of us sat with a small table inside, there would not be enough space for the coolbox, cooking paraphenalia etc.

If your heart is set on a coleman then I was suggest the weathermaster due to its much larger living space.

Or a Mckenzie with a huge canopy

Sorry cant help more

Angie

Thanks for your reply Angie. There's only two of us so taking the bedroom second pod out should give us a bit more space.

Well for 2 then it will be fine even with both bedroom pods in. The second one would be a great place to hide stuff and leave the living space looking less like a teenagers bedroom than our tents usually look lol

dmmneys, you'll always get a better response if you show a link to the tent.

Is it this one?

It's hugely tall and despite what they say about it being easy to pitch I wonder how on earth it can be?

Is it new for this year? I'm sure there was something similar at Highbridge last year?

I'd hold on a bit until the outdoor displays are up and then see if you can find one or at least get others views.

Thanks Guys,

PigletandTigger...That is the one indeed.

Should have realised that a link would have helped.

It is pretty similar to the cedar creek allbeit nearly 10kg heavier! that was why I was looking for peoples experience or a comparison (separate thread). Isn't any bigger than the Cedar Creek so not sure where the 10kg comes from

I contacted Coleman direct for some feedback but they've been silent and the website's been goosed for the past few days. Hopefully it's getting a makeover and won't be quite as useless as it has been to date.

The little information i've seen on it states it was released last year but I've not seen it until now. Certainly there are no reviews on this, or any other, website from happy or disgruntled owners. Probably have to wait until the camping season kicks off proper shortly.

Think I may head call the 2 or 3 camping outlets we have here in Scotland to see whether they have one and might pitch it.

Merry might be able to confirm but there was something a bit like this at Highbridge last year - but I'm not sure if it was the same tent - I have a vague recollection that the one at highbridge was the one that you could add pods or something similar?

We had an old "green" Coleman Sahara and that and the old "green" Bispace tents that they produced were really good quality for the price and I imagine most of these tents are still going strong now.

The new "blue" tents seem to me to be of much poorer quality and seemed to have been made to a price.

These "odd" shaped tents that Coleman have produced over the last few years seemed to me to be too big and too heavy and quite strangely designed to me.

Hope you manage to find one to see or at least one that someone else can look at and give you some feedback
